Re: Shelving

My gut feeling is weight and support is something the shelving
folks or engineers need to calculate. It is not something I would
feel comfortable with. Try doing a pencil sketch of one proposed
shelving unit....calculate the cubic foot boxes and multiply by
50 lbs.... I've been in several installations that had a mesh
floor as the second floor....the only difficulty was moving things
across it with book trucks, dollies, etc. You have to be
careful that you don't have staff who might feel vertigo from
being able to look down through the floor.
