Access

We use an access database for this type of project. It was designed by our computer folk to contain fields that I specified for each "format" of material. One componenet is a general archival collections section, one is for audiotapes, one is for negatives, and one is for reference requests that come in and we've done specific research, this allows us not to replicate all the steps the next time. We are going to add another component for press releases and one for our videotapes. Each is Very searchable and we've had very little problems teaching it to new staff.
