Which is a lot higher number of individuals than would be present at a local
auction house.
Here is the link for eBay's charity auctions http://pages.ebay.com/charity/

by going to an online auction service you have the ability to achieve a
higher result for the item. Not sure whether or not the same could be
achieved by just a local auction.
