Preservation Law Seminar



Seminar focuses on preservation law

A one-day seminar, planned in Santa Fe [New Mexico]  later this month, will
focus on the ethical, legal and funding issues in historical preservation.

Preservation Law: Historic Resources and Cultural Landscapes will be held
from 7:30 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Hotel Santa Fe, 1500 Paseo de
Peralta.

Faculty will include State Preservation Officer Elmo Baca; Daniel Carey,
director of the Southwest office of the National Trust for Historic
Preservation; Tom Mayes, Elizabeth Merritt and Anita Canovas, also of the
trust; Katherine Slick, president of the New Mexico Heritage Preservation
Alliance; and Jesse Monfort Bopp of the state Historic Preservation Office.

"This conference is important because it can bring those who do preservation
law together to share experiences and information," Bopp said in a news
release from the New Mexico Heritage Preservation Alliance.

Attendance at the seminar will cost $65, if postmarked before Sept. 19, or
$85 thereafter.
