Progressive has nothing at all to do with it, rather it is good old free
market economics at work. Too many archivists chasing too few jobs. I would
suspect that the institution will receive a goodly number of applications
at the salary offered. Now if no one were to apply for the position the
institution might have to raise the ante.

As it stands now it is a buyer's market.
