stickers

I'm just doing an accession list of some items that were donated by
one of our former chefs. They include old Culinary Inst. tectbooks,
menus for special events, etc. I discovered that on each one, he has
stuck on a laser printer sticker that says "Menu Collection [name of
chef]."

I tested one of these, and it looks as if I could pull it off without
harming the materials. Can anyone tell me a good reason why I
shouldn't do this? (especially since a lot of these materials will not
go into the menu collection!)

Thanks
