I actually do work in a Vault, in an old bank building, but I also have another office with two windows. In the early days of my tenure in the Vault, they forgot I was around and I didn't get holiday pay at first. So, I started coming up for air and making the rounds twice a day to the PR office, mail room, etc. so they wouldn't forget about me.

Subject: Re: Musty
Journalists wittingly or unwittingly perpetuate the stereotype that we
work with dusty and dingy documents. From my twenty years' employment
as an archivist, I can say that most people with whom I discuss my work
believe that I hide myself in a storeroom or vault and play with
manuscripts and photographs all day. Until we can change the public's
perception of our profession, low salaries and low prestige will be
ours.
My 2 cents' worth.
