Re: snow in Alabama

A colleague in Alabama just sent me this lovely quote from
Thomas Wolfe about the joy of snowfall in the suhthuhn regions.
On the other hand, he (colleague) said it started to sleet last night
in Tuscaloosa, turned to cold rain and is raining as wel speak, and
oh the joy the joy if it freezes tonight!!

Carol

"Snow in the South is wonderful. It has a kind of magic and a mystery that
it has nowhere else. And the reason for this is that it comes to people in
the South not as the grim, unyielding tenant of Winter's keep, but as a
strange and wild visitor from the secret North." --Thomas Wolfe
