Re: Sanborn Maps



I wasn't in on all the negotiations (thank the stars!) but the
University of Utah was able to scan and put up Sanborns for our
state; you can view them at:

http://www.lib.utah.edu/digital/sanborn/index.html

I understand it was quite a lengthy process to clear the rights and
get everyone's ducks happy.  If anyone is interested in that end of
it you might contact my colleague, Walter Jones, at
wjones@library.utah.edu, who was the lead man on the process.
We did our own scanning and database work, and use some
software--Mr. Sid, I think--that enables you to zoom in on the page.
