Re: Banning patrons

Seems to me that hacking should be taken very seriously, patron or employee.
If it is an employee, revoke all rights the user has, possibly think about
firing them. If it is a patron, I would consider contacting the authorities.
We are a large university, and we have to deal with hacking all of the time.
We strike hackers, and would-be hackers with vigor, and have set forth the
rules for internet use in a policy, that we give to all employees and
students. Obviously, you are going to have to prove that it was the person
that you are blaming, but if you have proof that it was them, you can take
action. (If something was stolen, get the authorities involved. We have had
the FBI involved in many cases dealing with credit card theft (online),
interstate commerce problems, and people serving inappropriate material from a
personal web server.) These people need to know we mean business, and I bet
this person will after you reprimand them.
