strange reference requests

I am fully aware that:
a) this thread is likely past its sell-by date,
b) the nature of this post isn't strictly within empirical bounds,
c) but it works on a level that many library refugees will appreciate.

This story takes place only a rooster's age ago. After 3 years of hard time as nonspecialized (but mostly reference) Librarian in the branches of the Brooklyn Public Library System, I had a dream that distilled my experience in that setting. The dream was very short, a patron-composit approached the desk and demanded the text of the new and (according to her) well-known celebrity chef's recipe for water.
The next morning, I knew my useful destiny was in archives. About two weeks later (only long enough for common courtesy, and enough time to draft an appropriate resignation letter) the greatly reduced salary of archival work couldn't possibly shake the conclusion that I had made the appropriate life-choice.
