The University of Connecticut has some photographs (women arriving, working
and a visit from Eleanor R.) with the possbility of some student newspaper
articles, but very little else.

In the current discussion about German POWs held in the U.S., there have
been some mentions about POWs being used as farm labor in some areas.
Along this line, does anyone have any materials on the Women's Land Army
during the war in the U.S? Approximately, three million women, worked as
volunteers, or for room and board/low wages, on farms throughout the
country. Some were teachers who took time during their summer to help
with tending animals, cultivating, or harvesting. There have been a few
academic articles about these women, but not books and personal memoirs
that you find on the subject from the women in Great Britain, who had a
similar program.

Do any of your repositories have any materials, oral histories, news
articles about these women?
