Re: Electronic records texts--suggestions?
You may also find the following book helpful, particularly if you have
an interest in the organizational, strategic and project management
issues related to electronic records:
Ellis, Judith A., ed. Selected Essays in Electronic Recordkeeping in
Australia. O?Connor, ACT, Australia: Australian Society of Archivists,
2000.
The scope is obviously stated as being Australian, but I think a lot of
it applies quite well in a U.S. context. The presentation is pretty
practical and approachable, with a lot of bullet points, check lists and
such.
You can purchase it (and the three books that Bob Nawrocki mentioned)
from SAA:
http://www.archivists.org/catalog/
With the exception of Charles Dollar's book, all of them are offered at
a discount for SAA members.

with current record practices and the content of future
holdings, they cannot long delay plans for appraising,
accessioning, and servicing this new [computer] media
of communication."
