Dr. E has mentioned several times that hay/straw and water will grow
protozoa.

I've also read .... somewhere ... that they need longer to get going than
the more common occupants in our ACTIVELY AERATED compost tea.

So as M. Holmes has not returned my email, I'd like to grow some protozoa
of my own.

Questions then :

which is better hay (legume or grass) or straw (oat or wheat)

add water

then do aerate or make a sun tea ? which we now all know is anaerobic ?
