Fantastic, Linda. Thanks. I had common American wild strawberries growing all over the place when I first moved onto my 
land but the gradually vanished. I would be happy just with more of them if anyone has any of the native varieties to 
share.
Johnny's sold Alpines at one time, maybe still, I will check.
My Grandmother, who lived in Pittsboro NC used ot regularly make wild strawberry preserves. I have never seen them 
anywhere else since.
