Decided to look out at the feeders after reading Bill's post about
banding Purple Finches, and who should fly down for a very brief appearance
but a male Purple Finch and at the same time, a Pine Siskin. Hadn't seen
them since the 12 and 14th of March. Goldfinch numbers are increasing in the
yard.
Still seeing the Baltimore Oriole daily, wonder how much longer it'll
stay.
This AM watched a Pine Warbler gathering up a few feathers under the
feeder, then it flew up to the suet cage and dropped all the feathers it had
in it's bill, and ate suet instead. Just saw the same? Pine Warbler under
the feeders picking up feathers again, while I was viewing the Finches, this
time it flew off with them.
