Esther and I saw an adult Cooper's Hawk carrying nesting material to the
top of a White Pine a couple of blocks from our house this morning. We
could make out a stick mass at the top of the tree. We've seen two adult
Cooper's Hawks in the area a few mornings recently, and a single bird six
or eight times. This is the third straight year Cooper's Hawks have
attempted to nest in the neighborhood. Four young fledged each of the past
two years. This year's nest tree is on the north side of Sunset Parkway,
in front of #52.
