Vanlandingham Glen & Harwood Garden report : 4-11

Carolinabirders,

For those of you in the Charlotte area or if you plan to be here in the next
few days, I would highly recommend a visit to the Glen & Gardens. An array
of colors can presently be seen throughout the gardens which contain both
wild and cultivated specimens. Various rhododendrons, azaleas, phlox,
columbine, trillium, and many others are in their finest hour.

The birding in the gardens isn't bad either...

Wood thrush (3)
White-throated sparrow (2)
White-breasted nuthatch (1)
Rufous-sided towhee (1)
Brown thrasher (1)
Myrtle warbler (2)
Catbird (1)
Carolina wren (1)
Tufted titmouse (2)
Carolina chickadee (2)
Cardinal (4)
Robin (2)

It should be a lively place over the next few weeks as more migrants appear.
If you would like to visit the Glen, you will have to park in the visitor
pay lot and this is the only fee that you will encounter. At most you would
pay $3 for the entire day. The Glen is conveniently located just across
from the visitor pay lot.
