All--
Thanks to everyone who assisted in identifying the poor bird who met its
demise on my deck. Based on your observations and my subsequent re-review
of the guides and research on the Internet, does indeed point to this
specimen being an Ovenbird. This is the second rather unique bird in the
last 2-3 months which has apparently flown into a window on my deck. The
first appeared to be a black throated warbler.
Best regards,

Well, another bird has met its demise on my deck. I have gone through
Audubon & Peterson's guides and cannot identify it. Following is the best
description I can come up with: sparrow-sized, live, white underside with
black stippling on breast up to neck, 2 black 'stripes' on top of its head,
short narrow tail & short pointed beak. Any ideas? I've bagged it.
Thanks.
