Hilton Pond 04/15/01 (Flowering Dogwood)

HI . . .

Although the Flowering Dogwood is admired for its showy spring
display, most people have never actually seen the dogwood's flower.

Discover the secret life of the dogwood on the Web site for Hilton
Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History at http://www.hiltonpond.org
. Just click on "This Week at Hilton Pond," and select the week of
15-21 April 2001.

As always, there's a summary of the week's bird banding activities,
including recaptures of several species--even hummingbirds!--and a
colorful mug shot of a male American Goldfinch in full breeding
plumage.
