Fw: Eurasian collared dove

I am not surprised that the Hallerons found Eurasian Collared-Doves at
Harbor Island near Beaufort, SC. This species is well established at many
coastal locations in the Palmetto State. Starting with the first discovery
in the state at Myrtle Beach the species is now fairly common at Myrtle
Beach, Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, Edisto Beach, and Bennetts Point. I do
not know the status at Hilton Head, but I would predict that they are fairly
common there as well. How many of you remember how excited we were about
House Finches in the Carolinas in the 1970's and early 1980's? Deja vu all
over again.
