counting in Horry Cty, SC today

Hi y'all,
Things didn't look too promising this morning when Ritch Lilly picked me
up for our NAMC effort here in the Independent Republic of Horry. At 7:30,
we still hadn't seen a bird! (heard a cpl, but hadn't seen any) Overcast and
constant 15 - 20 mph winds made "looking up" a pain in an area somewhat
farther south than the neck. Anyways, we ended up with ~70 spp. from
Punchpole Landing, Bucksport sod farm, Conway sewage ponds, New Rd. and my
yard. The "best birds" were:

White-rumped Sandpiper - 1 (Conway sewage ponds)
Yellow Warbler - 1 (Punchpole Landing)
Magnolia W. - 4 (3@Punchpole, 1@New Rd.)
Blackburnian W. - 1 (Punchpole)
N. Waterthrush - 3 (New Rd.)
(10 warbler spp. for the day)

Cool birds, cool company, cool day.

Odyssey update: 255 (all in 4 counties in the SC coastal plain. i really
need to expand my range...or do i?)

Cheers,
gary
