Dear Carolinabirders:
I found here on the farm in Alleghany County this morning 2 Purple Finches,
both apparently female. it has been a long time since any showed up here.
These birds were not at a feeder, but deep in woods apparently feeding on
dogwood berries with a large group of Cedar Waxwings and Am. Robins.
Last Monday, also in Piney Creek but not on the farm, there was a flock of
about 30 Horned Larks in a large fallow cornfield.
