Dear Birders,
I have a shrike that likes to hang out in my back yard.
Yesterday, I watched him trying to impale something on one of our peach
trees.
It turned out to be a caterpillar of some kind.
Here's a picture:

A few years ago John Connors and I discovered an impaled vole on a willow
out in the marsh.
This shrike needs something better than a peach tree to impale treats on...
Anyone know where I can get an Osage orange or some other plant with big
thorns?
