Probably Cooper's Hawk at feeder (near Greenville, NC)

An adult Accipiter swooped across the perch at my feeder a few minutes
ago, even though there had been no birds there: he has learned where
they perch. The hawk had a broad white band at the end of the tail,
although I did not notice the tail being particularly rounded. The
head seemed too long for a Sharpshinned Hawk, but I (shamefully) did not
notice the eye position.

Wow! It is difficult to look for field marks when one of those birds
sweeps through. He did not hang around. My binoculars were on the
table, but I didn't have time to raise them to my eyes.

I have enjoyed having a Brown Creeper around this winter. I last saw
him yesterday.
