Just a note to state that if anyone has not yet seen the Green-tailed
Towhee, this may be the best time to view it. There is seed in a
container and the sparrows and towhee are waiting for it to be
distributed--at anytime of the day. After food is placed in the feeding
area, the Green-tailed Towhee usually shows up within a few minutes and
you are able to get excellent looks for long periods.
You might bring a few pounds of bird seed and re-fill the container for
others to use. A very inexpensive gesture in order to see this adult
bird. I viewed it numerous times last week; simply waiting a few minutes
after placing seed in the feeding area.
