Carolina Sandhills 3/30 + a Sharpie question

Took a trip to the Sandhills yesterday evening with my father's Biology
classes. We were in search of Red-cockaded Woodpeckers and frogs.

Bird highlights:
Whipoorwill-2 or 3
Common Yellowthroat-a bunch
RED COCKADED WOODPECKER- had at least one
heard Bachman's Sparrow

Frogs: heard mostly, but after the rains they were all out on the roads,
caught and released 8 species

Bullfrog
Green Frog
Carpenter Frog
Spring Peeper
Cricket Frog
Chorus Frog
Leopard Frog
PINE BARRENS TREE FROG- heard only

Also, are Sharp-shinned Hawks in the Charlotte area considered as year round
or winter residents?
