April 1 chimney swifts, chapel hill, n.c.

I was lucky and just happened to be downtown in Chapel Hill later than usual
last evening -- I was walking west on Rosemary Street behind the Bank of
America building when I heard Chimney Swifts twittering. Just to be sure, I
cut through to Franklin Street, where a cloud of about 20 swifts was zooming
around. It was interesting -- they stayed right around Franklin and didn't
veer far off this thoroughfare. I assume this group was eventually going to
roost in the tall chimney of the old post office at the end of the 100 block
of East Franklin.

This is the earliest I've seen swifts here, I think.
