Re: Rose-breasted Grosbeak and swallows

Dear Bob and other Carolinabirders,

I've been at the Macdougall Correctional
Institution Training Hub all week. This may sound grim, until I tell you it
abuts the Biedler Sanctuary property in Dorchester County,SC. This week
I have seen 2 male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks,
Male and female Yellow Warblers, and a good
selection of swamp and woodland breeding species. It looks like
Rose-breasted
Grosbeak may be the "bird of the week" all over the Carolinas. It's nice to
see them way down here, probably the least likely spot
Steve Compton
Summerville,SC

PS-several sightings of Mississippi Kite this week
make me strongly suspect they breed in downtown Summerville. ----- Original
