citrus finches

Today a flurry of lemon-colored goldfinches has descended upon my yard. They
are feasting on thistle and purple coneflowers, splashing in the
newly-scrubbed birdbath, and filling the air with tinkling chatter. In their
midst, a tangerine-colored house finch quietly munches on black-oil
sunflower seeds. A cherry-colored cardinal and his muted mate join the
feast. Okay, so cherry isn't a citrus ;-)

Have a birdiful day!
