Magnolia Plantation birdwalk



The following are highlights of the Sunday morning birdwalk at Magnolia
Plantation at 3550 Ashley River Road ( highway 61) west of Charleston, SC.

July 28, 2002

56 Species were seen and/or heard.  The most interesting were; 12 Least
Bitterns, 7 Black-crowned Night Herons, 1 young Yellow-crowned Night Heron,
8 Glossy Ibis, 3 Mississippi Kites, 1 Adult Bald Eagle, 1 Wood Stork, 4
Black-necked Stilts, 1 Spotted Sandpiper, 5 Pectoral Sandpipers, 8 Pine
Warblers, 1 Louisiana Waterthrush, and 1 Orchard Oriole.  The Wood Stork,
Bald Eagle and 3 Mississippi Kites were flying above the parking lot just
after the walk ended at about noon.
