Caw Caw Park Ravenel, SC birdwalk



The following are highlights of the morning birdwalk at Charleston County's
Caw caw Park in Ravenel, SC led by Perry Nugent at 8:30 am.

August 3, 2002

57 species were seen and/or heard.  The most interested were; 4 WoodsStorks,
2 Mississippi Kites, 1 Swallow-tailed Kite, 7 Ospreys, 5 Greater Yellowlegs,
7 Lesser Yellowlegs, 6 Spotted Sandpipers, 5 Least Sandpipers, 10 Pectoral
Sandpipers, 1 Long-billed Dowitcher, 10 Yellow-billed Cuckoos, 25
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, 2 Loggerhead Shrikes, 1 Yellow-throated Vireo, 8
Northern Parula Warblers, 2 Louisiana Waterthrushes, 6 Blue Grosbeaks, 5
Indigo Buntings, and 25 Painted Buntings ( most were young ).
