Thanks for everyone's comments. I apologize to Will for using up so
much carolinabirds space, but I do believe that they ultimate decision
will affect birding in NC. I was interested in how birders felt about a
bypass bridge and I found out. It appears to me, from the comments
recieved, that most everyone but me believes that losing birding access
to Pea Island is a small price to pay for having the island and its
birds and other inhabitants left undisturbed.
I am glad that I had the priviledge to get a number of "lifers" such as
Curlew Sandpiper, Black Tailed Godwit, Ruff and others, not often, if
ever, seen in other locations. My grandchildren probably won't have that
opportunity.
I am sure that this thread has had enough. Let's give it a break. I am
glad to recieve comments directly. Thanks Will!
