Hummingbirds on TV

*******

Hi, all . . .

If you can pick up a TV station that is part of the UNC network, you
probably already know their fundraising "Festival" is going on. On
Thursday night, 24 February, they're running a "Carolina Outdoor
Journal" Marathon with that show's producer, Joe Albea. Joe and his
on-screen talent, Kelly Davis, were at Hilton Pond Center for
Piedmont Natural History last summer to do a piece about hummingbird
banding.

The show that includes the hummingbird segment has already run a
couple of times, but I understand it was selected to be part of
"Festival" and will air sometime between 8:30 and 9:35 pm. Most of
the show deals with fishing, but I was pleased they also got in a
nongame topic like hummingbird banding.

The final re-run of the program will be on 22 June at 8 pm.

If you've been wondering what Hilton Pond actually looks like, here's
your big chance! :-)

Happy Birding,

BILL
