Hi folks,
Today on the Sand river in Hitchcock Park, Aiken, SC I had a Gray-cheeked
Thrush, Blackpoll Warbler and Worm-eating Warbler. Another bird sounded like
Swainsons Warbler, but only sang once (though close). These birds were near
the Horse Show Ring (near Bluebird Hill). The thrush had no buff wash to the
eye-ring and breast, but did have the gray wash to the auriculars and
supramalar.
I followed a single male Ovenbird for 2+ hours but still saw no evidence of
nesting. Anyone in southern SC. Please let me know if you happen to stumble
uppon any nests. I'm trying to get data (after the young have left of
course) on the nest site microclimate. Last year I helped initiate an
on-going, similar study, in NH and would like to see if there are any
differences in the southern end of the their range. I would be willing to
travel some distance if there were a nest to take data on.

Thanks in advance.
