Hummers and fledglings

Just wanted to mention that at our feeders in Chatham County I have
counted 7 r-t hummers simultaneously (four male, three female), some
obviously significantly smaller than others. Activity level is amazing
with a lot of swooping in and out and fanning of tail feathers. Haven't
seen the courtship display as of yet.

Also, as many have reported, am having a number of youngin's at the
feeders- downies, cardinals, tufted titmice, mourning doves. The
newness of their feathering is oftentimes in stark contrast to their
parent's frazzled look. My senses are still overloaded by the bird
sounds each morning when I step out the door- ovenbird, wood thrush,
yellow-throated warbler, hooded warbler, northern parula, b-g
gnatcatcher, acadian flycatcher... It is a great time of year.
