Scissor- tailed flycatcher update

Sat 6/10 about 9 AM we observed what was probably an egg laying. The
female went into the nest and was very agitated. She was tail out for
about 5 minutes and the she turned and settled for about 30 minutes.
This same behavior was observed again about 9:15 AM today.

Yesterday about 10AM we watched as the male chased our resident black
vulture all over the sky until the BV turned tail and moved on. Right
after this we all observed what appeared to be a few victory loops
before returning to the tower.

The birds are very active until about noon and then not much until about
5pm.

We have enjoyed meeting visitors and are especially glad to see the
children. Hopefully we are raising the next generation of birders.
We will keep everyone posted on progress.
