Hello ya'll.
Went to Cowans Ford Wildlife refuge today. From the overlook saw a "calico"
phase LITTLE BLUE HERON, GREEN HERON, SPOTTED SANDPIPER. The heron caught
about an 8 inch long catfish and chucked it down like that. Alongside the
road just before entering the refuge, there were numerous BLUE GROSBEAKS, one
YELLOW WARBLER, INDIGO BUNTINGS, and GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS. Then just for fun
I stopped at Mcdowell Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, an was rewarded with
1 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, 2 SOLITARY SANDPIPERS, and 2 more SPOTTED
SANDPIPERS.
So migration has begun, and for Charlotte birding, a great day.
