Hi - taking the back road from Dahlonega, Ga, to Simpsonville, just "happens"
to go by Dobbins' Farm. And sometimes you get a few good birds. well the
birds were very few today, @ 1730, but some were rather good, including a
Eurasian Collared Dove just west of the big barn and feed lot, and an imm.
male Prairie Warbler in a china-berry tree by one of tha abondoned buildings.
Also of interest, was a Black-billed Cuckoo that flew across US123 in Oconee
County, at the Chauga River crossing. This becomes by several days (Oct 8) my
latest record in the Piedmont-Upstate of South Carolina, to go with Steve
Compton's sighting last weekend.
