Great White Heron- HBSP

Spent a beautiful morning at Huntington Beach State Park today (11\4). Best
bird of the day was a Great White Heron (white phase of the
Great Blue Heron usually restricted to south Florida). The bird was first noted
by Tracy (the spouse). We brought the scope to bear on the heron and confirmed
the Great White. Does anyone know if there have been other records for GWH at
HBSP? The bird was at the inlet to the rear of the jetty.

Also in the general area at the base of the jetty:
2 White-crowned Sparrows
10+ Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrows
10+ Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrows
1 imm. Reddish Egret

Fairly good numbers of shorebirds near the jetty pool including Red Knot, Piping
Plover, Am Oystercatcher, and Black Skimmer.

The causeway area was productive during the rising tide. Many birds present
including 3 Wood Storks, a Bald Eagle, and numerous shorebirds.
