Marcia Watkins and I looked today (11.5.00) unsuccessfully for the
White-faced Ibis today. I think I've seen the eyes of enough Glossy Ibises to
last a lifetime. There were plenty of other birds to see, though:
Pied-billed Grebe
Double-crested Cormorant
Anhinga
American Bittern
Great Blue Heron
Great Egret
Snowy Egret
Little Blue Heron
Tricolored Heron
Yellow-crowned Night-Heron
White Ibis
Glossy Ibis
Black Vulture
Turkey Vulture
Sharp-shinned Hawk
Cooper's Hawk
Northern Harrier
American Kestrel
Common Moorhen
American Coot
Belted Kingfisher
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Eastern Phoebe
Tree Swallow
Marsh Wren
Northern Mockingbird
Orange-crowned Warbler
Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler
Palm Warbler
Yellow-breasted Chat
Savannah Sparrow
Song Sparrow
Swamp Sparrow
Red-winged Blackbird
Eastern Meadowlark
Brown-headed Cowbird
