The Sibley and Monroe order ends with Bobolink, but for us in the Carolinas
it would begin with Ring-necked Pheasant, not with grebes (they're far down
the list, just after falcons but ahead of loons). You can get world lists
in S&M and Clements orders, plus the ABA and AOU lists (in AOU order) at
Jack Siler's site: http://birdingonthe.net/
The order the American Ornithologists' Union follows is similar to that of
Clements, for us beginning with Red-throated Loon and ending with House
Sparrow. You can get the current AOU list straight from the source --
