Townville, SC

November 7, 2001

I visited Townville,SC briefly yesterday and things were relatively
quiet. Notable was 1 ruddy duck (female) on Dobbin's smaller farm
pond...1 male harrier and 1 female harrier (unusual) along with lots of
horned larks and savanna sparrows in the bordering pastures and fields.
Abundant white-throated sparrows, field sparrows and towhees at
Beaverdam WMA. Hopefully the next cold front will push some more "sexy"
birds our way!
