Re: Carolina RBA Sept. 5 Update



Mike,

I enjoy your comments from a Polish perspective
and your birding expertise. However, the "Rare Bird" Alert does serve a
useful function, and yes, the birds reported are usually the hardest to find
in the Carolinas. I have 325 birds on my SC list but I have never seen a
Ruff or a Wilson's Phalarope in SC, but have seen Piping Plover hundreds of
times. Taylor's quick listings are necessarily done quickly and are not a
substitute
for committe work. His listings are arbitrary but are often
usefull to me, especially in my pursuit of new life birds.
