Caw Caw Birdwalk



The following are highlights of the three hour Saturday morning birdwalk at
Charleston County's Caw Caw Park located on US highway 17 in Ravenel, SC led
by Perry Nugent at 8:30 am.

November 2, 2002

60 species were seen and/or heard.  the most interesting were; 50
Green-winged Teal, 3 Northern Pintails, 5 Lesser Scaup, 3 Sharp-shinned
Hawks, 3 Red-shouldered Hawks, 3 Red-tailed Hawks, 6 Greater Yellowlegs, 2
Lesser Yellowlegs, 25 Dunlins, 1 Yellow-billed Cuckoo, 1 Hairy Woodpecker, 4
Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, 2 House Wrens, 1 Marsh Wren, 10 ruby-crowned
Kinglets, 21 Golden-crowned Kinglets, 1 Hermit Thrush, 3 Loggerhead Shrikes,
1 White-eyed Vireo, 5 Palm Warblers, and 1 Vesper Sparrow.
