The following are highlights of the three hour Saturday morning birdwalk at
Charleston County's Caw Caw Park in Ravenel, SC led by Perry Nugent at 8:30
am.
November 9, 2002
59 species were seen and/or heard. The most interesting were; 50
Green-winged teal, 12 Blue-winged Teal, 19 Lesser Scaup, 2 Bald Eagles, 1
Sharp-shinned Hawk, 1 Cooper's Hawk, 3 Red-shouldered Hawks, 1 Semi-palmated
Plover, 7 Dunlin, 1 Golden-crowned Kinglet, 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, 1
Hermit Thrush, 3 Loggerhead Shrikes, 1 White-eyed Vireo, 2 Blue-headed
Vireos, and 1 Palm Warbler.
