Forsyth Audubon December Activities

The Audubon Society of Forsyth County (centered in Winston-Salem, NC)
has the following activities scheduled for December. All are welcome to
participate.

Saturday December 14th: Birdwalk at Reynolda Gardens. Meet in the
lower lovel parking area, near the bicycle shop and Lake (or Marsh)
Katherine at 9:00 a.m. These walks last from 1 - 2 hours depending on
what we see. In addition to extensive gardens and of course, Reynolda
House itself, which is a Museum of American Art, Reynolda Village
offers shopping and dining so out of towners may want to plan to spend
extra time there. Also, if any of you have kids nearing college age,
the Reynolda complex borders (and is owned by) Wake Forest University,
so you could take a look at the campus on your visit.

Saturday, December 28th: Christmas Bird Count. If you wuold like to
participate please contact David Disher at (336) 765-9356 or
dkdisher@concentric.net. If you e-mail David please include your phone
number and mailing address with zip code. Participation requires a
$5.00 fee, which is paid to National Audubon to help cover the costs
associated with compiling and publishing the data. Each participant
receives a brief journal with the highlights of the counts all over the
world. We have several teams covering different sections of Forsyth
County. David will assign you to a team unless you voice a preference
for a certain area. We will have a count dinner at 5:45 p.m. at the
Mayberry Restaurant on Country Club Road (in the Vineyard Plaza Shopping
Center between Jonestown and Peacehaven Roads.)

We will not have a chapter meeting in December. The next Chapter
meeting will be Tuesday, January 28th at 7:00 at SciWorks. More on that
and other activities next month!

Thanks so much.
