Hello, this is a Dec. 29 update of the Carolina Rare Bird Alert featuring
birding news from North and South Carolina sponsored by the Carolina Bird
Club. Highlights on this report include:
WESTERN TANAGER
CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD
CAVE SWALLOW
A WESTERN TANAGER is visiting a yard in Morehead City, NC. The bird was seen
12-26 and 12-27. For details contact John Fussell at <jfuss@clis.com>.
A single CAVE SWALLOW is being seen at Carolina Beach, NC. Look at the
municipal lake on the west side of US 421 in the town of Carolina Beach. A
BARN SWALLOW has been seen also.
A female CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD is coming to a feeder in Charlotte, NC. Call
Harriett Whitsett at 704-333-0479 for details.
