The following are highlights of the 3 hour morning birdwalk at Magnolia
Plantation at 3550 Ashley River Road ( highway 61 0 northwest of Charleston,
SC. led by Perry Nugent at 8:30 am.
January 19, 2003
59 species were seen and/or heard. The most interesting were; 6
Black-crowned Night Herons, 10 Wood Ducks, 100 Green-winged Teal, 200
Blue-Winged Teal, 45 Ring-necked Ducks, 3 Lesser Scaup, 1 American Kestrel,
10 Yellow-bellied sapsuckers, 1 Eastern Bluebird, 2 hermit Thrushes, and 2
Rusty Blackbirds.
