The following are highlights of the 3 hour Wednesday morning birdwalk at
Charleston County's Caw Caw Park in Ravenel, SC led by Perry Nugent at 8:30
am. A small fee is charged. For more information type www.ccprc.com on
your computer.
February 26, 2003
57 species were seen and/or heard on a foggy turning windy day. The most
interesting were; 8 Hooded Mergansers, 1 Osprey, 2 adult, 1 baby and 1 first
year Bald Eagles, 1 Great Horned Owl on nest ( no Baby yet ), 2 Hairy
Woodpeckers, 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 2000 Tree Swallows, 1 Winter Wren,
6 Ruby-crowned Kinglets, 1 Golden-crowned Kinglet, 3 Hermit Thrushes, 2
Blue-headed Vireos, 1 Orange-crowned Warbler, 2 Pine Warblers, 2
Black-and-white Warblers and 1 Common Yellowthroat.
